The Ouseburn Climate Challenge

The Ouseburn river faces many challenges from its source in rural North West Newcastle to the Ouseburn Valley where it meets the Tyne. Groundwork North East and Cumbria worked with partners Ouseburn Trust, Tyne Rivers Trust, the Environment Agency and the North East England Climate Coalition to raise awareness of the river environment, the effects of climate change, and what we can do to help.

The Ouseburn Climate Challenge project was funded by a Water Environment Improvement Grant from the Environment Agency.

This video showcases some of the work we and our partners are doing to improve the Ouseburn for wildlife and the communities that live, work, and visit the area. This includes increasing biodiversity, improving water quality, and continuing to educate all aspects of the community.
