36 Lime Street Studios
Address: 36 Lime Street, Ouseburn, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 2PQ
36 Lime Street is the oldest and largest studio group in the North East, as well as probably the most creatively diverse. Since its inception in 1983, when Mike Mould (of Bruvvers Community Theatre Company) bought the derelict Cluny bonded warehouse, it has had a rich history of providing studio spaces to all manner of creative practitioners, including sculptors, painters, glass artists, jewellers, ceramicists, furniture makers, visual artists, musicians and puppeteers. With studios spread across five floors, 36 Lime Street Studios is undoubtedly one of the gems in Newcastle’s cultural crown. As with other studio spaces in the area, they regularly open their doors to the public. Pay a visit to their website to find out when you can next have a look around!
